WCCSWA appoints new Executive Director Neil C. James

The West Cook County Solid Waste Agency (WCCSWA) Board of Directors voted on January 14, 2015 to appoint Neil C. James to serve as its new executive director. The Full Membership of WCCSWA approved and ratified that vote at its meeting on January 28, 2015.

WCCSWA is an intergovernmental agency that delivers waste hauling and a host of recycling and educational programs to residents in thirty-eight (38) west suburban Cook county communities. WCCSWA Mission is to plan and provide for the efficient and environmentally sound collection, transportation, processing, treatment, storage, disposal, recovery, and reuse of municipal waste.

When we were looking for our next executive director, we knew we had to find a leader who could take our mission, improve upon it and give us the strategic leadership we need to move the Agency forward. Neil will help us do that,” said Village of Brookfield Trustee Michael Garvey, chairman of WCCSWA’s Board of Directors. “Neil has an outstanding public service record and brings depth and leadership to the Agency.

Prior to accepting his new post, Mr. James served as the Deputy Director of both WCCSWA and the West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC) where he oversaw and developed the organizations Legislative Agenda and managed various programs.

It’s a privilege to be asked by the Board of Directors to lead WCCSWA. As the former Deputy Director, I am familiar with the work WCCSWA has done over its long history and I am honored to continue to lead it in a positive direction for years to come, said Mr. James.
