STATE-WIDE RECYCLING GUIDELINES RELEASED

The West Cook County Solid Waste Agency present these new State-Wide Recycling Guidelines to the communities and residents of West Cook County.  These new guidelines were developed by a statewide Task Force which the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency was a part of.   The Task Force has attempted to develop guidelines that are applicable statewide which has not been an easy task.

The Task Force will continue to modify these guidelines by working with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and its new website that will ultimately have very detailed lists and pictures of items that are acceptable at the recycling facility utilized by your waste hauler.

In the meantime, please review the items we have listed in the NO area of the guidelines below. These items are causing the most problems for the recycling facilities. If we can get those items out of the recycling cart we will have improved the value of recycling significantly. Thanks for your patience and thanks for recycling.
