Aug 13, 2022 IEPA Household Hazardous Waste event – POSTPONED
Due to unforeseen circumstances the IEPA and Orland Park Township Highway Department regret to announce that the planned one-day Household Hazardous Waste Event, scheduled for August 13th at Victor J. Andrew High School, has been postponed. The contractors for the IL EPA had a facility fire and the incinerator is inoperable at this time. We will notify you once a new date has been selected. Thank you.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker Signs Bill Banning Burning of PFAS
Governor JB Pritzker signed a bill banning the burning PFAS, chemicals used in a wide range of consumer products that have been linked to health problems. Since the 1940s, the perfluoroaklyl and polyfluoroalykl substances, or PFAS, have been used in products including non-stick cookware, fast food wrappers and some cosmetics. Illinois General Assembly Passes Drug Take-Back Bill

Illinois EPA Director John J. Kim has announced nine upcoming Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) one-day collection locations for the spring of 2022 (See attached for locations).
